For decades, progressives have attempted to use climate change to justify liberal policy changes. But their latest attempt – a new proposal called the “Great Reset” – is the most ambitious and radical plan the world has seen in more than a generation.
Instead of traditional capitalism, the high-profile group said the world should adopt more socialistic policies, such as wealth taxes, additional regulations and massive Green New Deal-like government programs.
“Every country, from the United States to China, must participate, and every industry, from oil and gas to tech, must be transformed,” wrote Klaus Schwab, the founder and executive chairman of the World Economic Forum, in an article published on WEF’s website. “In short, we need a ‘Great Reset’ of capitalism.”[caption id="attachment_2209" align="alignright" width="275"] "My two white fools."[/caption] The World Economic Forum republished an article originally titled, "How to get people to eat bugs and drink sewage." Wonder why they changed the title. To help you understand what you must eat, let's look at what you shouldn't eat. For example, you shouldn't eat what they serve at the French Laundry restaurant in the Napa Valley of California.
On Nov. 18, guests had the option of swapping out a Wolfe Ranch White Quail “Presse” for Hand Rolled Ricotta “Agnolotti” for an additional $175. Guests also had the option of swapping an Herb Roasted Elysian Fields Farm Lamb for Japanese Wagyu “Poele” for an additional $100. Courses on yesterday’s menu included a Roasted Cauliflower “Velout,” Nova Scotia Lobster “Galette,” hand-cut Mac and Cheese and a Soft Boiled Rhode Island Red Hen Egg. An assortment of fruit, ice cream, chocolate and candies were available for dessert. That's what Caifornia Gov. Gavin Newsom and his lobbyist pals feasted on recently. The basic meal starts at $350, but there were lobbyists there, so. Oh dear. Turns out Gavin is part of the World Economic Forum. [caption id="attachment_2208" align="alignright" width="259"] "Not here. Not in public."[/caption] Now back to our two fools, Here's what John Kerry had to say to the World Economic Forum. See if you can follow.
“Normal was a crisis; normal wasn’t working. We must not think of it in terms of pushing a button and going back to the way things were. We’re a long way off from being able to go back to any kind of normal.
“Forces and pressures that were pushing us into crisis over the social contract are now exacerbated. The world is coming apart, dangerously, in terms of global institutions and leadership. What we never did was adequately address the social contract, the franchisement of human beings around the world, to be able to participate in things they can see with their smartphones everywhere but can’t participate in. This is a big moment. The World Economic Forum is really going to have to play a front and centre role in refining the Great Reset to deal with climate change and inequity -- all of which is being laid bare as a consequence of COVID-19.I hate it when social contracts get exacerbated, whatever. Now here's what the other fool had to say to no one in particular.
"I'm going to — we're going to impose the — we're going to enforce the — excuse me, employ the defense, reconstruct the act, to be able to go out there and dictate companies build and do following things."Darn if that isn't hopeful. These two fools remind me of a little song.
